Doodle 296 - Gummi Bears

I was trying to think of something to draw and I decided that I would draw all the great Disney cartoons I grew up with this week. Poor Duke Igthorn, he just wants the secrets of their gummi berry juice so he can take over the kingdom. Is that really so wrong? Tomorrow Duck Tales

Doodle 295 - Snowy Spider-Man

Today we went out sledding again and found an awesome 400 yard downhill fairway at the golf course.  The walk back up was pretty long though.  While we were out there I thought I’d draw my doodle in the snow, and my little guy said I should draw Spider-Man.  I don’t think I did him justice though.

I also colored an old doodle of Spider-Man for my youngest to put on his school folder.

Doodle 294 - First Snow

We finally got some snow, and the boys and I were out sledding for the first time this year.  We may even get up early to get some more sledding in before church tomorrow.  I just love snow!  Just a quick inkscape doodle since it’s time for bed.

Doodle 293 - Zombie Clone Trooper

The Star Wars: Clone Wars episode tonight was about the clone troopers getting mind controlled through worms up the nose.  It’s been done before.  What I really thought was odd was though the worms were perfectly safe inside the host’s body, during the climactic scene at the end one of the worms felt the need to hang half way out of it’s host.  That wasn’t the best idea…

Doodle 292 - LEGO Animals

We keep a bunch of old Duplo blocks for when we have younger kids over to visit.  Tonight the boys and I were playing with them and I ended up making  a bunch of little animals.  There was Crocodile Joe who liked saying “shut yo mouth” and “I’ll bite you butt.”  Ernie the Eagle who made a disturbing peacock noise and flew about squawking.  Humphrey the Camel was pretty much a big complainer and the elephant didn’t do much at all.

Doodle 291 - Stalling the Rain

The last day of our camping trip was cloudy all day but somehow the rain held out until we were all getting ready to get on the bus.

Doodle 290 - Come Here Fish!

On the camping trip I was the leader for the team-building activity so I wasn’t able to chaperon my son’s group.  But I did get a break once, and ventured off to see what his group was doing.  The all had hip-waders  on and were trying to catch some fish to learn about what they found.  My son couldn’t understand why the fish were always gone when he would splash over to another spot.  I think they heard him coming…

Doodle 289 - Camping Packing

Tomorrow, I’m going on a two day camping trip with my son’s 4th grade class (fifth grad is going too).  So I thought I would doodle my trusty old backpack.  If any of you are old enough to remember the first Pepsi Points/Pepsi Stuff promotion, I saved up to get the Mountain Dew backpack, and have been using that thing for the last 12-13 years.  It went to bootcamp with me, hauled groceries up and down the hill even week in Korea, and has always been there when I needed it.

Doodle 288 - Planet 51

I couldn’t think of anything to doodle today so I thought I would quickly sketch up the astronaut from Planet 51, which we went to see this weekend.  It was a really good movie, the boys enjoyed it, and it was riddled with homages to geeky flicks from my youth.

Doodle 286 - Reading Certificate Parts

These are the final pieces that I had to generate for my son’s school’s reading certificates.  Now I just need to code up the web page and I’ll probably use it as my doodle tomorrow.

Doodle 285 - Give Thanks!

Today we had some friends over for Thanksgiving and one of the games we played was UNO Jenga, which was a lot of fun as long as the little ones didn’t bump the table constantly.  We also got to turn on all our Christmas lights when it got darker, hence the somewhat odd subjects of this doodle.

Doodle 284 - Turkey's Last Stand

If this little guy can just make it one more night, his chances of survival greatly increase.

I found out that my prize for the logo contest was a $50 gift certificate, which I will put to good use.  Thanks First 6!!!

Doodle 283 - First 6 Logo

A few months ago I posted about our local First 6 association holding a design contest for a new logo.  This was one of the ideas I submitted though I removed the base name from the bottom of this version.  Today I found out that this submission was chosen and I even won a prize!  I’ll find out what the prize is tomorrow.
