A co-worker wanted to do a little competitive LEGO building so we decided to each build a catapult. We brought both of them in today and the ballista he built is quite impressive. I opted for a more traditional catapult, and fear I will do poorly on the distance score. We plan to throw down tomorrow.

This is a doodle of a couple of friends of mine I call Mongo and Frenchy. It’s more a funny depiction of the nicknames then a caricature. It’s certainly not drawn to scale.
This doodle just goes to prove that I’m horrible at portraits. It’s based on an old Christmas photo of our boys and the doodle of my oldest has some issues. Guess I need lots more practice.
This doodle is not really based off anything specific. Just a doodle of an old man.
In an effort to improve any skills I may possess outside of drawing cartoony people, I decided to do a series of facial studies. My own skills are quite lacking in this area, so most days I’ll find a reference, and try to make the doodle unique. Today’s doodle is based off the Hana character by Joshua Middleton.
This doodle is pretty simple. I wanted to do something in a flat layer/wood cut look. I thought Domo would be a good subject, so I made him a zombie. I should have spaced his eyes out more though… That’s what I get for not using a reference.
Whenever I see those funny Captain Morgan commercials with people striking the “boot up on a keg” pose while the narrator says “Got a little Captain in you?”, I always think that idea can be ported to lots of funny things. This doodle is just a geeky version of that idea.
So, I had this piece of cardboard on my desk and I thought I’d doodle on it today, but what to draw? Why a cardboard box monster of course! I think the shoebox feet was a pretty good pun.
