Another year has came and went, this one seemed extra full of classes and training for everyone in the family. Here’s looking forward to another great year! The boys both thought they’d make it to midnight but they cashed out early.

Today I found another anime series that might be worth streaming on Netflix. It’s about a world at war between two different nations and a third party that’s providing everyone technology. The series follows this young pilot and his navigator as they get caught in the middle of everything. A couple episodes in and it looks promising…
We’ve been waiting to go see The Dawn Treader since we had heard it was a little more frightening then the previous Narnia movies. Today we were able to split up the boys and my wife took our youngest to lunch while I took our oldest to see the movie. I thought it was good, and the kid they got to play Eustice was perfect.
Our youngest got a few of the “Real Construction” toy sets for Christmas, which are basically plastic hardware and foam boards. He built a whole bunch of stuff including this little toolbox, but we had to warn him not to be too cut happy or he would just end up with a bunch of useless scraps.
Today we took the boys to see Gulliver’s Travels with Jack Black, which had a Kung Fu Panda preview before it. Gulliver’s was a good movie, though there were a few words I would not have used in the dialog. I’m pretty excited about a new Panda movie, as long as it’s as gorgeous as the first one.
One of the things our oldest son got for Christmas was the Wii game Epic Mickey, which he has been having a lot of fun playing today. This is my horrible attempt to sketch the reverse version of the scrappy looking Mickey from the cover.
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
Today we’ve been burning through all the Christmas movies that we’ve been recording all month. Before we put the kids to bed, we made sure that we watched “The Very First Noel.” This is Balthazar from the movie, one of the three wisemen. I scribbled this out in inkscape pretty quickly and the simplified all the lines for the abstract look.
This was a request from Ulrika from a Peter Pan sketch of Peter and Captain Hook fighting, or the Crocodile, so I thought I’d through them all in together. I hope they like it!
This afternoon I finally got a chance to go see TRON Legacy. My wife was out of town last week for a wedding, so I couldn’t go see it opening night as I had planned. That. Movie. Was. Awesome. and I wore my TRON hoodie of course…
My wife was able to get most of our gifts for the kids wrapped today, which she probably didn’t want my help with. I’m way too picky and take too long.
So this is me, or how I felt when I got home from work anyway. I had to work the midshift last night so I after getting up at 9 am yesterday with the boys, I finally got to go back to bad about 11 am this morning.
I found a new DC comics DVD in the local RedBox machine today that had several short movies, including one about Captain Marvel and Black Adam.
