The first guest we had to our new house is my wife’s sister Cassy, who has been helping us out a lot with some decor decisions. I normally ask our guests to doodle something for the blog, but she did much more then that, she illustrated all over this extra shelf we had, making it awesome! This doodle was my pathetic attempt to mimic her technique.
We’ve been getting more and more mayflies at the house lately, but when we looked up information about them, we found out they only live in there adult state for around 1 day. That sucks… Well buzz away little guys, enjoy your day.
Another great comic book helmet, and it was prominently featured tonight on the new Young Justice episode. Here’s to Dr. Fate…
Tomorrow is Theodore Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss’) birthday and our son’s elementary encouraged the kids to dress up as characters from his books. We didn’t really have anything we could have him wear, so my wife found something online that showed making a headband hat thingy, so this is what I came up with.
Continuing the streak of great comic bucket heads, here the great Victor Von Doom!

I got this idea to draw some of my favorite bucket headed characters from comics, so I had to start with Iron Man. Here’s hoping the Avenger’s movie this summer is amazing! (Captain America’s helmet looks dumb.)

I got a request from someone at work for a Luchador with some American themed underoos, so I had to oblige. Colored version below…
Well, it’s been a crazy few months, but I said I’d be back in February so here I am! We’ve mostly settled into the new house, but there certainly are no end of projects and things to do left ahead of us. The boys like their school, and as much as I love snow, there’s something to be said for 70-80 degree days in the middle of February.
I’ll try to make up for my hiatus with a few extra things here and there. Keep reading below to find a gallery of some of my nephew Sam’s hilarious drawings. Read the rest of this entry »
This is mostly a last ditch effort to tempt fate. In a few hours it’s going to be December 31st and we have had no snow this year… none that didn’t wuss out and melt when it hit the ground. Being that we’re moving to Texas in a week or so and have little chance of seeing snow there, I was hoping for at least one last coating before we left. But I’m sure it won’t happen… or will it?
As we celebrate another wonderful Christmas, I blessed to remember that though it may not be wrapped up under a tree, God’s gift to us is what’s really important today. Merry Christmas to all!
For some reason I’ve been playing around with our LEGO Technics quite a bit lately and built a bunch of different rubberband guns over the past few days. The one above was a good attempt, but them I started getting a little crazy with gear reduction.
Tonight for our Friday night move we’re going to watch Kung Fu Panda 2 so I sketched this panda up while I was on hold on the phone at work. We also caught the Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special that was on tv this earlier this week.
This image seemed funny, then the post title seemed ironically fitting. Now if only it didn’t seem really snarky and unthankful at the same time. I’m a very thankful person, for my amazing family, our blessings, our health, and just being alive and kicking. But I’m not sitting in for no jive turkey…
We’re back home in beautiful (cold) Iowa for a little vacation / house hunting trip / turkey day, and today we were hanging out at my nephews house. Jake said a friend of his wanted me to draw a dinosaur eating a person, so I thought I’d doodle up a not-too-gruesome version for him. You never know, the guy might still escape?
