Doodle 1023 – Bucket Head Nova

Doodle 1023 - Bucket Head Nova

Another comic book bucket head, this time Marvel’s Nova.  If only I had done these all in the same lighting/perspective they might have looked nice all together.

Doodle 1022 - Wobbly Ninja II

Today I decided to update my wobbly ninja, which is a really fun/loose way to draw something.  I basically draw very simple geometric shapes in inkscape (below), then select all the points in the shape and force them to be curves instead of sharp corners.  The fun part is not allowing myself to make any little adjustments, and just let the results be what they are.

Continuing the streak of great comic bucket heads, here the great Victor Von Doom!

Doodle 1009 - Bucket Head Iron Man

I got this idea to draw some of my favorite bucket headed characters from comics, so I had to start with Iron Man.  Here’s hoping the Avenger’s movie this summer is amazing!  (Captain America’s helmet looks dumb.)

Drawn in Inkscape, textured in Gimp.

Doodle 681 - Po Snow Training

Today we took the boys to see Gulliver’s Travels with Jack Black, which had a Kung Fu Panda preview before it.  Gulliver’s was a good movie, though there were a few words I would not have used in the dialog.  I’m pretty excited about a new Panda movie, as long as it’s as gorgeous as the first one.

Doodle 678 - Balthazar

Today we’ve been burning through all the Christmas movies that we’ve been recording all month.  Before we put the kids to bed, we made sure that we watched “The Very First Noel.”  This is Balthazar from the movie, one of the three wisemen.  I scribbled this out in inkscape pretty quickly and the simplified all the lines for the abstract look.

Doodle 655 - Wobbly Ninja

This was just a goofy doodle I did where I drew something close to normal shapes and then let inkscape warp them.

Doodle 610 - Circles

I have neglected my art computer lately so I thought I would draw something up and I decided to do something in Inkscape with circles.  When I was all done I couldn’t tell if I liked to colored version, or the relief of just showing the shadow so I saved both.

Doodle 595 - Striped Wallpaper

I had draw most of this some time ago, but thought of it and the name (pun totally intended) tonight, so I added the background and some lighting.

I don’t know where this idea came from, I really don’t…

I was just playing with shapes and curves and this was the result.

Doodle 573 - Puppy sketch

I haven’t tried to draw anything on the computer lately, so I thought I’d sketch something out quickly tonight and I decided on a puppy.

Doodle 550 – Eye Button

Doodle 550 - Eye Button

More inkscape stuff for the week.  I decided to doodle a faux glossy button and I thought I would make some kind of eye icon in the middle.

Doodle 549 – 4 Seasons

Doodle 549 - 4 Seasons

Today we took the whole family and Steph and Dave to Six Flags to hit up some roller coasters and the water park.  The boys had a lot of fun and it was really nice to have a few more adults with us.  I haven’t done much stuff on the computer lately, so I thought I would doodle up something in inkscape.  Somehow I got 4 Seasons from Six Flags?
