Doodle 688 – Yoda Art Card

Doodle 688 - Yoda Art Card

My wife picked my up a couple of packs of these artist trading cards that her sister had all over her house.  I decided that I’d try to doodle on them this week, and I’ll send them to my nephews.  I thought I already drew on pretty small paper, but these things are tiny.  I had to use my Sakura Pigma Micron .005 pen for almost everything.

Find out who he’s talking to tomorrow…

Doodle 672 - Star Wars Pancakes

One of the things we got while we were back home were these cool pancake molds, which were pretty cool, once I figured out the best way to use them.

Doodle 580 - Clone Trooper Helmet

Tonight was the premiere of the new season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.  One of the cool things was during the commercial breaks prior to the show they kept showing this simple two-toned graphic of a clone helmet.  That inspired this doodle, which for all it’s simplicity took twice as long as I wanted it to.

Doodle 546 - Sith Apprentice

Our friends Stephanie and Dave are in town to visit us, so Dave and I were playing a little Star Wars: Force Unleashed on the Wii.  I suppose that’s the best excuse I can come up with for this doodle…

Doodle 535 - LEGO Licensed Sets

I always thought it was a cool idea that LEGO used a universal skin tone and non-realistic weapons so they could promoted equality and not violence.  That is until they started licensed sets, and all that seems out the door.  Oh and historical weapons seem fair game (swords, halberds, axes, spears, bow-and-arrows, cross-bows,  katanas, cutlasses, muskets, flintlock pistols, spear-guns, tridents, dynamite,  etc.)  Just no current guns or space weapons… unless licensed of course.

Doodle 460 - LEGO Clone Trooper

Our youngest got this cool LEGO Star Wars Attack Shuttle so now it seems I keep finding all these LEGO clone troopers scattered around the house.  I fear he has a big Power Miners set coming in the mail from his aunt too.

Doodle 440 - Boba Fett Cheats

Even when playing an innocent game of Marco Polo with the other kids, young Boba would always kick on the jetpack and start blasting away at anyone brave enough to say “Polo”.  Such a cheater…

Tonight is the season finally of Clone Wars, which is supposed to revolve around young Boba and his revenge.

I also made a couple intermediate versions of this doodle as I was coloring it.

Doodle 405 - Stormtrooper Mii

Tonight I got to play some Wii sports with my father-in-law while the ladies were playing cards.  I gave me an excuse to try out this stormtrooper Mii idea I saw on the internet.  Now I just need to play him a lot to build up his stats.

I came across this awesome series of cute Star Wars people by Joe Wright so I though I’d try to do a cartoony version of Darth Maul.

Doodle 360 - Commando Droid

doodle 360 sketch

My wife bought me “The Conduit” for the Wii so I thought I would draw something from the game but I wasn’t able to find any good references for what I wanted to draw.  So for some reason I thought I would draw the commando droids from Star Wars.  They’re smart, well trained, and can disguise themselves.  Why would you ever use normal battle droids again?

Doodle 349 - Mandalorian Knight

The boys, and lots of grown men around the planet, were really excited that the Star Wars episode tonight featured the Mandalorians.  During one scene the had the mural on the wall that inspired this doodle.  It’s not really based on anything other then the helmet shape.

Doodle 342 – Ahsoka Tano

Doodle 342 - Ahsoka Tano

Tonight’s Star Wars episode was about Ahsoka losing her lightsaber and seemed rife with chances for her to get it back rather simply using the force, but then what would the do for the other 18 minutes of the episode?

This doodle is really just a lame excuse/preface to put up this silly picture I took.  I put General Grievous’ head from the original Clone Wars cartoons character on Yoda’s body.  It was almost a perfect fit!

Doodle 322 - Grievous Ice Cream

Today we watched the hour long Star Wars episode from last night that focused on General Grievous.  I have to admit it’s pretty sweet when he whips out all four light sabers.  I was wondering what else he could use all those arms for, so I made him into a scary ice cream man.  Almost as scary as those ghetto looking vans you see rolling around covered in stickers.

Doodle 293 - Zombie Clone Trooper

The Star Wars: Clone Wars episode tonight was about the clone troopers getting mind controlled through worms up the nose.  It’s been done before.  What I really thought was odd was though the worms were perfectly safe inside the host’s body, during the climactic scene at the end one of the worms felt the need to hang half way out of it’s host.  That wasn’t the best idea…
