Another comic book bucket head, this time Marvel’s Nova. If only I had done these all in the same lighting/perspective they might have looked nice all together.

Today I decided to update my wobbly ninja, which is a really fun/loose way to draw something. I basically draw very simple geometric shapes in inkscape (below), then select all the points in the shape and force them to be curves instead of sharp corners. The fun part is not allowing myself to make any little adjustments, and just let the results be what they are.
Today Google was nice enough to remind me how “not smart” I am, with their science fair search for the next Einstein. Here’s to you Al!
For some reason I’ve never seen the Family Guy Star Wars parodies, so I finally put them on my NetFlix queue and I got Blue Harvest in the mail today. Definitely won’t let the boys watch these, but I hope their pretty funny.
Today I watched this amazing motion studio video someone posted on cghub called Thought of You. I thought I would fiddle around with MyPaint a little more. It’s definitely worth checking out the extra footage.
The boys have found a new show lately that they really like called Wild Kratts. It stars the Kratt brothers on animated adventures rescuing animals and using their creature power suits to learn about the animals abilities.
This is my firs time using MyPaint in Ubuntu, which was pretty fun. I’ll have to try it out a little more.
Tonight I finally set up my new laptop to dual boot into Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04, with a 10Gb partition they share to swap files back and forth. I works pretty nicely, so now I almost have a dilemma of which OS to use if I don’t have something specific to do.
I came across this awesome series of cute Star Wars people by Joe Wright so I though I’d try to do a cartoony version of Darth Maul.
Colored in Gimp in Ubuntu
This was just a little messing around I did with my new intuos4 tablet on my ubuntu box. I was pretty busy tonight so I just sketched this out in inkscape really quickly to get a doodle done. I also colored the hulk post from a few days ago in the Gimp with the new tablet tonight.
Here’s the final doodles for the LEGO card. I just got done coloring them today. I did all the color in The Gimp, and the front one on my new Ubuntu PC I put together and have attached to our 32″ TV. It was pretty fun, but I need more RAM.
